    • amphibians was a pilot for an ‘actual-play’ podcast, an audio form made with serialised recordings of a roleplaying campaign. A group of speakers on a given topic participate in critical worldbuilding and narrative improvisation through the conceit of playing a tabletop roleplaying game together. Research and experience is extrapolated into a collaborative story, combining the factual and the fictional into a reactive model of the subject. The discussion, both in and out of character, is recorded and edited into a podcast that slips between narrative immersion and distance. The pilot episode, based on the theme of ‘work and leisure’, was recorded in December with fanfare project space, Amsterdam, featuring artist and labour activist Alina Lupu, artist and roleplayer Alice Dos Reis, and labour policy researcher Tobias Phibbs. Together, they created an audio drama set in a former worker’s village, featuring ersatz automated care robots, ideological moonlighters and self-owning images.
